STARBOARDERS is a band that wants the world to be different and is using music to make lives better. They are a band on a mission - a mission to change the world, one album at a time. We are about MUSIC, HOPE and LIFE.
Making music that people can believe in while creating anthems that shake the very core of rock is our goal. Our genre of music could be called Hope Rock and it is defined not only by the musical rhythms and style, but a message of hope to a world needing something more than simply a song. People need to hear grace and love and acceptance and our songs meet this need. So here’s how we want to make a difference…
The Problem – Access to clean drinking water is a luxury we take for granted, but for 63% of the world, access to improved water sanitation is not available and 1.1 billion people on earth lack access to any source of clean water. Additionally, every 15 seconds, a child dies from a water related illness, meaning 4,500 children die each day due to illnesses caused by unclean water. Overall over 3.5 million people die each year from water related disease.
The Solution - When you buy STARBOARDERS first full length album, CHROMA (now available on Itunes and Amazon), you are saving a life because ALL proceeds from the album will be used to buy a water filtration device called a LifeStraw®. Through our partnership with LifeStraw® and Rotary International a simple water filtration device will provide clean water, reduce morbidity and mortality rates, and allow another person to live a more fulfilling and productive life. Each LifeStraw® ensures that right for a person for an entire year.
CHROMA was mixed at WaveTransform studio by Yanic Bercier, and mastered at Patchwerk Recording Studios by Kenny Mixx- both of whom sponsored the album because they believe in the project. Rotary International will be distributing the LifeStraws® directly to those in need. STARBOARDERS is interested in being a part of a movement and changing lives.
